The fact is that partition actions can be costly, especially with so many heirs involved. The actual cost will be dependent on several factors, including attorney fees which can vary by attorney. You can get a better picture by interviewing several attorneys in Louisiana and asking for estimates.

And lengthy. My friend was attempting to purchase some property that was held in a similar situation. The families partition action dragged out for 4 or 5 years. My friend wasn't to concerned because if he could buy it nobody else could either.

Right. The time it takes will add to the cost. Anita and the other heirs will want to weigh costs versus benefits before filing a partition lawsuit.
