Did you or your attorney make the "request"? I ask because such a "request" if not carefully done could result in your consent to personal jurisdiction in the court.
I did it myself, back in April, and have not heard a word since...from her attorney, or the FL court. I sent a copy to the clerk, and a copy to the attorney. The clerk filed it and now the divorce shows as 'pending', since April, on the public records website. Her attorney refused the certified letter that contained her copy, so it was sent back to me.

Thank you for your time and replies.

It would be wise for you to get an attorney in florida to deal with the case there, and one in GA to deal with your (more important) case there. You are not going to get child support ordered for earlier than the date you filed the case in GA. She is not required to pay you anything without a court order.

I'm not concerned so much about back child support as I am just getting this divorce over with and forcing her to start paying now. She believes for some reason that she doesn't have to help me with our son, but the law states otherwise of course.

I do plan on getting an attorney here in Atlanta asap, but my question is this;
Can I file for divorce here in Georgia, if there is already a pending divorce filed in Florida, by her, that is sitting stagnant?

I appreciate everyone's help and replies on my original post. Many thanks and good day to you all.

You can, but you need to take care of the open case too. If you can find a lawyer in GA who is also licensed in FL (probably not that hard), then you can have one person take care of both.
