There's a reason for everything in life and I have a reason for the question I asked to be specifically answered. Op has not answered my specific question.

Trying to read a thread on my phone is a pita so I may have missed it but glancing through, I never read where the op in fact did say they were not opened.

Additionally there is that little thing about the fedex manager sending them back without direction from anybody and that the manager can somehow vouch the rims were not damaged. Just trying to get things as clear as possible before saying who I think owes who.

That is pretty standard practice when deliveries are refused.

I could be wrong but I think that Mr. Justalayman is troubled by the contradiction of the boxes being unopened and the Fedex manager being able to vouch for the perfect condition of the rims inside of the unopened boxes. I lean towards the belief that the OP is not able to write well, rather than any dishonesty on his part. It would be nice if he could explain the contradiction. Does he mean that the unopened boxes were in pristine condition when he saw the boxes at the Fedex warehouse?

You are correct. I inferred it from the strong implication of the OP, but it was never actually stated.
