removing materials from job site

What is the name of your state? Florida.

I was doing work for a guy who wanted me to rehab a small rental house. I told him I was working on it and then I went to do other things and forgot about it for 2 weeks. OK, my bad. He got mad, fired me, and went to remove some of the materials I had on the job before he had paid for them. I assumed he did it because he thought I owed him something. Can I take him to small claims court for the materials he removed and/or didn't pay for? There is also labor on some of the materials installed.

What ever you do dont go into court with the attitude that the officer is LYING just that he might have made a mistake.
