That's why all 3 of them have to be named on the policy, because they have insurable interest in their own property and shared property only. And all of them would have LIABILITY if an accident were to happen.

DH and I also shared an auto policy before we were married and we were not required to add each other to our vehicles' titles. Any people in the same household can share a policy. He was the driver of his car and I was the driver of my car and both of our names were listed on the policy. I was covered to drive his car occasionally and vice versa without being a listed driver and without being an owner.
