What is the name of your state? Fl

We rent kayaks and had a customer want to take the boat with them on there car. When the staff assisted putting the boat on the roof rack of the SUV part of the boat hit the roof of the car and caused a dent and scratch. Now they want us to pay $600 for the damages to there car. When they rent they sign a waiver/rental agreement that says
" It is expressly understood and agreed that Lessor shall not be liable for damages of any kind whatsoever, whether to persons and / or any other loss arising from the use of, operaton of or in any way connected with, the said equipment or any part thereof, from whatever cause arising, Lessee agrees to hold Lessor free from all such damages. "

Will this protect us or are we liable? Thanks
