Custodial parent moving out of state

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? LA

I am a custodial parent with sole custody, care and control of my minor child with reasonable visitation for NC. Do I have to notify him of my move? Minor child (15) has not seen or heard from him in 5 months.

If there are any court orders at all, you have to notify him of the move. He has every right to know where his child is. You may also have to file a notice of relocation with the court -- is the NC the non custodial parent? Or is there a court order in North Carolina?
