OR, from a safety standpoint, I agree with you, the fair one, waitinmd, haiku, etc, and really don’t have a problem going into the school.

From a practical standpoint, what CJane and summerdawn said makes sense too.:D

When I asked about whether there was a written policy, I got a hemming and hawing explanation that it’s “just school policy”.

However, the phone call I got(from The Ex:rolleyes:) after picking LMPS up bothered me. Apparently, the principal called and spoke with her after I sent my email to him and “asked if it was ok”. This happened before I picked her up, and while I was at the school the principal had ample opportunity to tell me this(as I said, I spoke with him while there). Considering that we had some “communication issues”(regarding who got what communicated to them) with the school around the New Year, I am perturbed that he didn’t communicate this to me.

Now my question is “What would you(the school) have done if she said no?”.

BTW, fair will always be my dfg;):p.

As for cheering up, all I can say right now is "bah humbug"...

Oh for chrissakes --- now you're just being plan stupid. Use SOME common freaking sense here, will ya?! Like I said before to Dad, do you realize the huge legal dilemma the school -- and probably district -- would face if ONE child wound up missing because they simply let an adult who claimed to be the parent take "their child"? Good freaking Lord.
Your post may score points with fairisfair, but there is no need to be out of control about it. It's just plain dumb to roll over about things like this and not question where a rule comes from when it appears to be out of the blue. OP is logical and your explanation is not. The school doesn't wonder who dad is, they know. Is there some concern the parents have shown they can't be trusted to have arrangements for their child after school? Not at all from what's shown here.
