Okay so me and a few friends signed a Renters Agreement for a house (upstairs and downstairs are seperate, upstairs and downstairs), and the security deposit was 1500$ per unit and was non-refundable. The thing is, there were people who left and found another house and knew that the repercussions of leaving was not getting their money back. I found another group of people to take me and my friends unit and had them pay me the 1500$ for the security deposit, and now the people who left early without trying to find people to fill the space are now asking for the deposit back (yet they knew there was no refund on the security deposit). What am i supposed to do? (The people who left were not same people who were in my unit of the house)
