Hi again!

I recently moved into a new place in Ventura, CA. My parents lived there before me. The smoke detector upstairs is broken. My parents wrote a letter and I have now written a letter and we get no response from our landlord.

Is there a law that says a Landlord has to fix that? Should I just fix it and ask for reimbursment?

Thank you

Well THANKS!

Now, does anyone know where I can find that law? Or what I can tell my landlord so he fixes it?

There is PROBABLY a law. Check city of Ventura ordinances and also building code, also Ventura county.
