go to this website http://www.dmv.org/. Here you can see all the recalls for your car. Also there are different types of recalls that call for different actions. Some recalls are issued for certain states only and are limited to these states. If you live in one of those states you will be notified by the maker of your car to bring the car in to your dealership and get the recall fixed at 0 cost. If you do not live in those states, the recall will only be fixed if the part on the car that the recall concerns brakes. It will be fixed at 0 cost for you. I just recently learned this myself, because the front suspension spring on my car broke and I did a search on recalls for this matter. I found that this problem was a recall for my car but only for certain states (cold weather and corrosion states). It was a recall for MO but I happen to live in Kansas (Kansas city, right off of state line....)
