I would be quite forehanded in checking to see if someone wants your body. It seems that around here at least, donating one's body to a local medical school must be pre-arranged. In other words, they've pretty much got as many as they need, and if you haven't got a reservation, you are buried by the county, not donated for research, regardless of your wishes or requests.

OP, you may want to research "cadaver donation Ohio" to find out what options you have. Some medical schools allow you to register online, which will allow you to give them more detailed info than a personal representative would be privy to.

And don't get discouraged. Oddly enough I have had occasion to research this not too long ago and learned that some places are not accepting any donations while the pandemic is going on, but plan to start accepting them once it it over. Commentator is right, though, that it needs to be pre-arranged.

Thanks, I'm working on that now. I've contacted the Cleveland Clinic to register for their body donation program. Once it's set up, all someone has to do upon my death is call them. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/departments/body-donation/process#pre-registration-tab
