ok, thanks :eek: I'm going to print out this thread and ask him and my mother about it. i think that the nursing home has been in contact with medicaid, and medicaid said they will only cover up to the extra $80 a day, so then the nursing home said, "ok uncle, you signed to cover her finacially, so the extra bills are in your name..."
i'll tell them to contact health and human services. they can probably tell him if a lawyer would help or not, or at least a consult.
