Okay let me tell you a story: both 17 And live in USA

My friend tells me to take him to a store, i did because I needed to by something any way. So when we get to the store I go and get my item, while he goes and gets his item that is worth 21 dollars. I had no idea he wanted to steal this item until he Said "stand in front of me" so I just kind of slowley walk while he is behind me trying to get the item out of it's case.

He finally gets it out and I go and buy my item. Then we both walk out, while we walk out he takes my keys and told me he wanted a quick get away.
P
My question is: Do I get charge with any sort of crime when we go to court

It would seem that if "we" are going to court, you were charged with something.
Wait i was very blunt with that statement im sorry.

My friend is 90% sure he is going to get caught. The reason he is so sure he is getting caught is because he left the opend package on the store floor and all they have to do is look at a camera.

He told me "Im going to bring you down with me if/when i get caught" Meaning that he wants to tell them that im some sort of accomplice in this situation. Which i wasnt at all.

You are an accomplice. What would you call assisting the theft instead of reporting it?

I already called them.
I feel guilty, and plan on turing my friend In anyway. What's the best way of going about that? Just trying to make sure I don't get In Trouble

Also you have yet to answer my question, Does any accomplice get the same charges

Yes, you may get charged also. They may or may not overlook your complicity. Remember, you are on tape also. Are you under 18? If not, I would seriously consider any action aside from dropping your friend as a regular associate.

(I was J/K earlier if you missed it)
