Yes, you may get charged also. They may or may not overlook your complicity. Remember, you are on tape also. Are you under 18? If not, I would seriously consider any action aside from dropping your friend as a regular associate.

Then I would discuss this with a parent, prior to making any decision other than dropping this other person as a friend. If you really do have idiotic parents, I am sure you have a trusted adult friend you rely on instead. Consult them.

Whether you could get charged as a principal to the crime or not depends on the state you are in. Certainly you can be charged with some criminal offense because you did assist with the the theft. In my state, you could be charged as a principal to the offense and could face the same exact allegations as your friend.

If charged, consult legal counsel.
