So this IS the same husband you were considering separating from/divorcing a scant 7 months ago? BAD idea to have him adopting anyone at the moment, IMO.

Why would the real father agree to terminate his parental rights in order to not have to pay what he isn't already paying????

edit:
I agree that it wouldn't be a good idea to try for adoption now, when the marriage was on the brink of "death" such a short time ago.
