Here let me put it in plain english. Lets say the OP's friend decides to show up and collect the property. The OP states your not getting it till I get payment. If the OP's friend was smart he would smile, go home call DMV and make a nice lengthy complaint.

Two weeks later after the OP has been hit with numerous fines and a court appearance, the OP's friend will be out there picking up his stuff without having to pay sh*t. And why you ask?

Because it is illegal to repair or fix any item with a motor on it for money without having LICENSED and established facility governed by DMV.

You would be well advised to restrain yourself and your attitude. You have no idea what you are talking about. With your lack of knowledge and attacks on senior members on this forum, you will not be here for long.

Show me where OP said that he has a junk yard. Its interesting that you believe that he has broken the law, but the "junk" has been there 3 years, and he doesn't mention the LAW giving him any citations.

You never responded to the fact that I told you about a mechanic's lien that had nothing to do with an automobile.

I don't give a damn about your father's car dealership, and neither does OP.

Dial the NY DMV, then post back about what they said when you tell them that OP is in CA.

And tell me why I cannot make a repair to my vehicle since I don't have a mechanic's license.

hmmm you just changed your statement. I wonder why. What the little crack about you fixing your own car came from you A@s and not your mouth?

I need not be warned. I know exactly what I am talking about. I have given much information on the moving and repair/car sale posts. Because these are businesses I have run and dealt with for many years.

Nobody cares about your family's junkyard, what we do care about is incorrect advice being given by uneducated people such as yourself. You can say bye bye, I am quite sure, even if you can not spell it.

B]The vehicles have been there for 3 years. I assume they are not running. They would be towed by the city or county as junk. In most areas it is illegal to have a vehicle that is not registered in the driveway/backyard that is not able to run. Therefore it is considered by state to be deemed junk. And if in fact you are able to store one vehicle at your premises your not allowed more than one. Or you are considered to be a junk/salvage yard.[/B]

You may repair your vehicle all you want. You cannot repair vehicles for money, regardless of who they are to you.

And to further add:

The OP took the vehicles and stored them. Well hate to tell you, again it is illegal to store vehicles for cash without a moving/storage/warehouse license. I am sure his county would love to know what the new junk/ storage warehouse that opened up without their knowledge. LOL

If your speaking on the first one, you of all people know each county addresses zoning issues concerning storage of vehicle. So until the OP submits his county, I would not be able to quote any ZONING LAW.

Breaking down slow for you: Zoning is established because people dont want a cow barn next to a grocery store. Nor do they want some junk collecting with 40 cars living next to them

These vehicles have been there for 3 years. OP didn't mention any problems. So, your ASSumptions appear to be wrong.

You still haven't addressed this false statement:
There is no such thing as a mechanic's law in NY unless you are a registered mechanic repair shop through DMV in NY
You still haven't told me what the DMV said.

OP hasn't mentioned any of the fines or court appearances that you've promised.

However, I'm done arguing with someone who doesn't even know what a mechanic's lien is.

Where, again, is the "banging head against wall" icon when you need it?
