I mean love in a healthy way, not sick/twisted feelings which are MISTAKEN for love. I'm talking about the real thing. Yes, a pedophile will tell you that he "loves" the children he takes advantage of, but that doesn't make it so.

My point is that there are parents who truly love, and are loved by their children, that for one reason or another lose their parental rights. Not because they are pedofiles with sick/twisted feelings that are mistaken for love, but because they have committed crimes or are mentally ill, and cannot be safely around children, even in supervised settings. I probably shouldn't have used the word "toxic"...but I tend to use that as a "catch all".

I can guaranteed that the vast majority of parents whose rights are yanked by CPS truly loved their children, and were loved by their children. They simply aren't "wired" properly to care for them.

A man who beats a pregnant woman...badly enough to get a long prison sentence... is not safe to be around children. Now, if drugs or alcohol was the root cause of his violence, then perhaps if he gets clean and sober and can stay that way, he might have a chance. However its unlikely that he would be allowed to be alone with children.

I see this daily. I also see the children who truly love their parents even if their parents are criminals, mentally ill, or have raped or savagely beat the child.
Love is not just for the healthy and well. it transcends. now i have to go to trial at juvenile court. A termination of parental rights trial. Afterwards, I plan to come home and have some wine and try to forget this trial and the last one.
