When does SOL time start ticking

actually sol will not pass, by leaving the country the sol will stop till you renter the country if i recall correctly. I know that is how it works for criminal sol and i belive it same for civil
It doesn't make any sense that SOL stopss till you re-enter the country. This is because no body on this forum mentioned this is the law. Everybody only mentins that SOL starts ticking when there is no activity on your account.

No, NOTHING like that gets 'recorded' on your passport,that's ridiculous.
Someone knows you left, you say the collection agencies are aware of your UK address !! That doesn't mean you can't TRY to use the SOL as your defense.

Fred, the SOL WILL stop when you leave the state, let alone the country, its called TOLLING and all states have some clause in their statutes that specify tolling of the SOL.

How wud I start trying to use the SOL as my defence from here in the UK? I mean - practically speaking - what do I need to do?

i don't remember where i read that but i could be totally wrong. Can someone confirm or correct me on my statement?
