tranquility;2929239]You've never learned how to communicate with a person though a language barrier?
I grew up being friends to several deaf people and have worked in areas where there were no English speaking people (which is my only language short of a few words I know in Spanish that would have done more to speed my demise than to get them to tell me what the settings on their defrost timer were before it caught fire and melted) and figured out how to effectively communicate with them. Yes, I can communicate with others where there is no common spoken language.

but the statement was more to point of: flipping somebody off is also communicating and given your intent, that would not be a reasonable way to start the conversation.;)

It just amazes me, how much effort OP is putting into "Who can I blame if...".

It seems to me that OP is making every excuse in the book for not communicating with these people like proper adults and finding a solution to the problem that doesn't involve suing someone or making a profit off of his perceived dilemma.

Bottom line, he has PLENTY of time to do the right thing, but he is too willing to think of what might happen that he is quickly losing time and potentially placing himself into that corner he claims he is trying to avoid.

Like my siggy says, "A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

OP knows what he can and should do now. What he doesn't realize is that if he DOESN'T do something now, he can't make money off of it in the future.

There are two reasons i have not confronted him yet.

1. Currently, it is actually more convenient having him behind my garage than in the street.

This is because street space is precious. There are some nights I park across the boulevard, which is an inconvenience. Having one more large truck every night in the street increases the chances of this inconvenience.

2. Right now, I cannot say exactly when I will buy the smaller vehicle. I would rather wait until I can give him a good estimate of when I will need my garage.
If I inconvenience him right now before it is necessary, I will have an even lesser chance of adequate repairs when needed.

I will tell him, however that at some point, I will need him to park in the street.
I haven't seen him for a couple weeks.

Nevertheless, I appreciate the advice, and will visit this thread again when I know I am within a week or two of a car purchase.

Did I say anything about making a profit?

What I did say was about trying to recoup what I could lose, and nothing more.

just to bring up an old thread, the other day I was approached by a Spanish woman, who couldn't even say bus in English. (she was waiting for the bus, and when I said "bus" she looked at me blankly. I'm sure we all know the Spanish word for bus is, bus.) anyway, I know Spanish numbers so I was able to kinda communicate what bus stop she was at, but I couldn't for the life of me, with hand signals and all, get her to understand the bus stop for all other buses besides the 40 I was waiting for, was 3 blocks away.

then SHE got mad when she couldn't understand me, she stomped off in the opposite direction then the busses.

when she walked by again, the right way, I figured she found someone to speak to in Spanish.

SO annoying.
