The daughter lied to the mother about the age of the boy. Maybe we should start asking the boy/girl that wishes to date our child for their ID? *laughs*
I used to "hate" my mother when I was growing up cause she was so strict with me but now that I have kids of my own and After reading some of these posts, I am glad she was that way.
Too many parents seem to want to be friends with their kids these days. As my mom always told me; "I am your Mother, I am Not your friend. Love me, hate me I dont care but you WILL listen till you are an adult"

We are not OLD, we are "experienced", which means we know the trouble kids can get into and we know as parents it's up to us to make sure they don't!! What parent wishes what is happening to starr_PA to happen to them?

I am so glad I was not the only one that had a problem with the 14 year old having so much freedom! I got to do the school dance thing (usually chaperoned by my parents!) and the school football games (with my parents) but until I was 16 and had my drivers license I didn't do much without them! And even then my Dad wrote down the miles on the car before I left so he knew if I said I was going to my friends house how many miles would be on the car!! I didn't have the opportunity to meet 18+ year olds and lying to my parents was just not something I would even consider!!!! And I was the last of 5 kids so I had more freedom than my older brothers and sisters!! However that also meant my parents were wise to the ways of a teenager...darn!! LOL I always thought my parents were stupid until I had children of my own and now I KNOW how smart they were and are!!

It wouldn't matter to me if the "boy" was 18 or 20. Too old for a 14yo. I wouldn't even be thrilled with 16. 15, okay. If I knew him/her.

Stealth, thats why I was half joking when I said maybe we should start asking for IDs. *laughs* Seriously considering not letting my children date till they are 18. Hmmmm 15 more years to go before that happens, I HOPE I am ready!!

The police officer you spoke to gave you incorrect information. Being that your daughter is 14, it qualifies as statutory rape. Technically, the male could be prosecuted by the police even if YOU had consented to your daughter's sexual relationship with him. Given that, of course you could pursue the charges against your daughter's will. I suggest speaking to the police again (perhaps someone in a supervisory position), or speak with your local county District Attorney, as another poster suggested.

The poster sounds genually concerned, and you butt into this thread with your own "PEE BRAIN" agenda?

You are very mistaken with your impression of some of the posters on this forum, and you are really getting on peoples nerves. To state that people are old on this site, is just out right stupid on your part. Your problem is you tend to not state anything at all. Run my 6 miles a day with me and let's see who is old.

You offer nothing to this forum,I just wonder if you actually realize it

You'll notice they have not replied since!

Hey everybody keeps saying 50 is the new 30, so 40 must be the new 20! So if he thinks we are old that must make him ohhhh about 10? So he can take his opinion and his pacifier and suck on it!! :D

 I HOPE not!!! I got a year to go before I'm old if its true.
I'll start doing like my mother and tell people "I'm 21 with ALOT of experience" Seems to work for her. *laughs*

Hmmmm if 34 is old then I guess my mother is considered ancient and my grandmother is what? An Antique?
Oh great now I got a mental picture of an antique-looking lady fishing and camping. *Smiles* Thank god she doesnt read these forums!!
