Stop breaking the law, and you won't ever have to worry about how you are "treated" by cops. Very simple concept, give it a try! This is the exact reason the cops see us good citizens as combatants, becasue of a-holes like this. This is why we get the treatment and resentment and unlawful tickets we get as americans. Now they will be saying see, guys this is why we teach you in your training that americans are our adversaries...Good job a-hole...

Rest in Peace, brothers.
Charlotte, thank you.I didn't notice this thread until now. Sorry to necropost, but I have to add my condolences and say God bless you, Carl, and officers everywhere. This is my worst nightmare.
Seems like everyone we come in contact with wants to fight with us... victims, witnesses, suspects, bystanders... everybody. Every day has been like a full moon on a 90 degree Friday night. I haven't seen this many fights and shootings since the early 90's crack explosion. And people wonder why cops are on edge these days?
This last week or so has been just one shooting tragedy after another - what's going on with people?
I'm eligible for retirement in 37 months and 11 days (but who's counting) ... but, since I will have two kids in college and one still in middle school at that time, I probably can't afford to do so.Seems like everyone we come in contact with wants to fight with us... victims, witnesses, suspects, bystanders... everybody. I don't think it's just caused by the crappy economy, either. This has been building for quite awhile. People in general have gotten progressively more callous and self-involved.
Four more years and I can retire with my hide more or less intact.
In October, 1993, Charlotte officers Andy Nobles and John Burnette were killed in the line of duty. My husband says as word of what happened spread throughout the city, crime came to an almost standstill that night. Everyone was shocked, and even the criminals seemed subdued as if there was an unspoken "Tonight, we're not going to mess with you."Seems like everyone we come in contact with wants to fight with us... victims, witnesses, suspects, bystanders... everybody. One reason why I pack a weapon even OFF duty.Cop slashed in the neck in Ashland, PA. Hospital says he'll most likely pull through but it was close!
He was off-duty and was trying to break up a fight outside of a mini-market.
