Help! My father has just passed away and my mother and I went to the bank to refi the property so she could take money out and pay off hospital debt. It turns out she is not on the title but on the note. Does this mean that she is not the owner of this property? I called their mortgage co. and they told me they could put her on the title if we refinanced with them (countrywide). Is that possible? How could she be put on title if she is only on the note?
