If I leave voluntarily, should I be responsible for paying back 100% of the tuition?
Yes, absolutely you should be, and are in fact, responsible for paying back 100% of the tuition, UNLESS the other party to the agreement agrees to something different.
In your case, they seem to have agreed to something different. The answers you received WERE correct. You just lucked out.

And it's not that anyone here was wrong and you're NOT legally obligated to repay. Your employer has chosen to let you out of the contract. Congratulations!
