now obamacare has been struck down as unconstitutional. shouldn't the fines (or shared responsibility payments as they were jokingly called)} be also struck down and as such be repaid to those who were forced to pay them ?

It’s being appealed and the law remains as is until further action is taken

Even if it's repealed you can bet nobody's getting their money back.
If it is held unconstitutional (which would ultimately be a Supreme Court decision) those who paid the shared responsibility payments would indeed get their money back, assuming that the statute of limitations for refunds is still open at least. When the Supreme Court held the harbor maintenance tax (as it existed at the time) unconstitutional in 1998 those that had paid that tax were able to seek and get refunds for the tax they had paid.

Fines? Seriously dude you don't understand insurance do you? If everyone is insured the costs are shared among everyone. Sorta like car insurance. Truthfully, instead of fines, maybe you should be found guilty of being uninsured. And serve time.

Not having ACA coverage is not, however, a crime. And starting this year, the individual fine for not having coverage is gone, too, as Congress repealed that in the 2017 tax act.

well when they want $1200 a month for a policy that has a $5000 deductible how is that affordable when you make 40 k a yr.. wife broke her shoulder, we self paid all our own medical costs about $5k... even with the fine imposed we are still farther ahead financially being uninsured vs the policies available..the 1200 a month was a quote from the marketplace 3/18...im sure that has surely increased by now..

and yes ive been found guilty of being uninsured...I PAID MY OHBUMMERCARE FINE>>>and suprizingly we didn't qualify for an exemption

There are a lot of people who have issues with the ACA (aka Obamacare) who are not big Trump supporters. Despite the claims of some ACA advocates, not everyone benefited from the ACA. For some, the result was an increase in health insurance costs. Those folks are not likely to be fans of the ACA. And while some liberals have trouble believing it, not all Trump supporters are racists.
