What is the name of your state? Florida.
My landlord said I have to pay 2 months rent, forfeit my security deposit and pay to have whatever needs to be repaired/cleaned to break my lease. Should I pay them for this considering I have had roaches the whole time I've lived here and they have not fixed the problem after monthly complaints. And that is the main reason I want to break it. We know why we have the roaches and so does the landlord, due to dirty adjoining neighbors. They say they are "fixing" the problem, but nothing has happened.

There is nothing illegal or improper about a landlord charging you a fee to allow early termination of your lease obligation. If you don't like the costs, you are certainly free to stay.
