Yes, I am a minor, I am 17. My parents input is encouragement and that the school is overdoing their punishment and that I am being wrongly punished despite no damage being done. I can see where the school is coming from, but I never expected any of this to happen. Do you think I wanted to be banned? Not really (not that it would stop me from getting in...).
The school is NOT overdoing anything. You could face PRISON time if you were an adult for what you did. You violated the LAW. Your arrogance will be your downfall. You are not being wrongly punished. The fact that you don't understand what you did wrong and you think you are right in what you did shows how stupid you really are.

I completely disagree with OHroadwarrior. Do not discuss this with the principal. Just because the police have not been brought in does not mean they won't. I would consider my rights against self incrimination. While that door may be too late to close, I would act with an abundance of caution.

Hack is the improper term. I'm pretty sure I'm more qualified then the technicians even at the school...I do not like you saying that I have no skill or knowledge, because I have more SKILL and KNOWLEDGE about computers than anybody that's qualified to work at that school. I did not share my access, and I didn't want the access anyways, which is why I turned it in. Shouldn't turning myself in say something? They found no problems, and all the computers are still fully functional.
Really. Then why are you not teaching the classes yourself? Talk about a sewl-inflated ego.

Long story short? You accessed school files w/o authorization, and are now being disciplined for it. Fairly, I might add. You have shown that you are not trustworthy of the privilige of computer access at school.

It should not puzzle you at all if you as tech savy as you claim. You got in there once, there is no guarantee that you won't get in there again, and possibly do serious damage, until they can figure out how you did it and how to stop you from doing it again. They have to protect the school's systems.
Especially in light of the bolded, where OP makes it clear that he could access the system regardless.

That is 100% true tranq. I had not considered they would go for prosecution on this. OP should send his parents in to do his talking.

OP should go - WITH his parents - to talk to a lawyer before talking to anyone else. Seriously.

No, I do understand why what I did was wrong, I got into unauthorized content that I had no right to see. But MY point is that I do not believe there should be punishment for what I did about the situation, which is turn it in and do no damage to the computers. That is what puzzles me.
Your belief is wrong. You are being held accountable for your actions. Puzzled or not, your consequences are not your choice and you don't have a legal issue.

Finally, some sense in this thread, and not just blatant insults about me being stupid. I think this is the only advice I'm going to take, because honestly, nobody else is helping. Maybe a lawyer will help.
