that's what I've been told by multiple people. is it necessary to get a lawyer then? also, if they fight the case that it was illegal for the cops to break in, is there a possibility that the ticket or whatever it is will be thrown out?
If you feel confident you can write and file a motion to suppress, have at it.

Your motion will have no bearing on charges against others, unless they are co-defendants and join in your motion.

I don't know what issues you'll have with standing in Illinois. You'll need to research that to see. Generally, you would not have automatic standing to challenge the search of your friend's home, since the entry did not violate your rights per se.

Personally, I think you need that lawyer if you want to challenge the search.
