The other question I have is - even after I mailed out the check to the labor dept last week I received a notice to pick up a certified mail from the labor dept ....what could it be ? I paid my dues already..could it be a receipt of my check or what do the labor department usually send ?
Seems to me that the best way to answer it is to go retrieve your mail. You DO know that, in situations like this, certified mail can be considered as "received" even if you don't pick it up, right?

Sorry, we are not psychics, we cannot determine what this could be. The only way to find out is to open the envelope and see what's in it, and since it's addressed to you, you're the only one who's legally allowed to do that.
