What is the name of your state? Georgia - I took my cat to have some teeth extracted. Two weeks after surgery, he was still showing signs of pain so I took him back for a recheck. They took him back to be seen (they wouldn't allow me to go in with him) and told me he checked out just fine. Didn't see any problems. I decided to get a second opinion and took him to a different place. They told me that there were nerves still in place where the tooth was removed. Could this be a case of malpractice?

Maybe. You might want a third opinion.

Thank you for your help
I smell sarcasm. ;)

It is really difficult to determine whether there has been malpractice without seeing the veterinarians’ records and knowing why the different vets came to the different conclusions they did. For that type of analysis you will need someone in your area to do an evaluation and see if the original vet’s standard of care for your cat was within guidelines. It could be that two weeks after surgery was not enough time to judge healing. I don’t know.
