View blocked by trees outside fence

We are buying a new house next week and we noticed there are evergreen trees outside our fence which will grow-up and block our view. This lot we are buying is a premium lot with great view. Builder says you can take care of these trees when HOA is handed over to community. But what if HOA does not allow us to replant/relocate/remove the trees. We want trees but up-to the height that they wont block our view/sunlight. Is there a way we can re-plant somewhere else or plant some smaller trees instead of those evergreen trees which grow very tall and dense.

No, there is a community play area behind our lot and trees are in that area along our fence. Trees are recently planted, they are about 6-7 feet now.

Have you learned if someone hired by the HOA will be pruning them and shaping them and perhaps limiting their height ? Also what is written into the deed of your home regarding protections centered around views and sunlight ?

You should contact your city manager to see what the restrictions are on altering the landscape.

Possibly. Does the community of Bothell own the play area or is the play area on property owned by the HOA?

I guess you will have to take up tree replacement with your HOA then.

There might be a reason the developer is planting a wall of trees between the homeowners' lots and the play area. It might have been a requirement of the City when the property was first proposed for development.
