What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

Warrant in debt issued against me. Homestead exemption waived: cannot be demanded is checked, what does that mean?

I am just a person with a 1500 car in Virginia
Should I try to declare homestead exemption at the local courthouse? I have googled a lot and cannot find answers, The court date for the warrant in debt is Monday. so I have 1 business day before, which is today. I really need information.

A warrant in debt simply means you are being sued. There is no judgment against you yet.

How much does the plaintiff claim you owe? Do you have a defense (e.g., statute of limitations)?

The exemption waived means that this debt is either superior to others on your property or specifically exempted as a homestead in the terms of the loan. The statement asserts they believe you will not be able to take the exemption in the ensuing legal action.

Unless you are filing for bankruptcy, you generally would not want to use your homestead exemption anyway.

The contract you signed might have/probably did have a homestead exemption waiver.

The amount and type of debt matters.
