I hope all does go well for you. And I hope you have not been so disappointed in this site that you will not check to get this message. I was impressed with your writing, your word usage, and your expression. Keep a writing career in mind, okay? As far as the situation with your Dad, sometimes it is like this: a person who has quit smoking after years is a tough one to be around if you smoke, even if you don't. They have a mind set that is so dead set against smoking that they will (usually unintentionally) make it very hard for the other smokers. Okay, I know smoking is bad, but I am just using this as an example. IF YOU ARE NOT DRINKING AND DOING DRUGS, your father is perhaps seeing the pitfalls of some of the things he has done. Being under the age of 18, he is still in charge. Maybe he screws up a lot with the money, etc., but it sounds as if he just wants to protect you from the bad stuff. If, as you say, you only have 6 months to go, it might go slowly, but more easily if you just try to please him. I don't mean I want to see you in this court thing, No No. What I mean is be there when he wants you to be there, do things around the house to impress him, whatever it takes within the NORMAL and accepted realm and limits of being a kid at home. In this way, perhaps he will reconsider this court thing b/c he sees what you do, knows where you are. I know, it sounds like a jail sentence, but it might change his mind a bit. In re-reading you posts, I think maybe your Dad is finding that he doesn't trust HIS ability to watch over you and guide you. That may be the whole reason for the petition. AND maybe he is trying to provide you with an outlet for venting if things go bad at home. Hard to say. If you are NOT doing drugs and drinking, keep up the good work. And if you happen to slip, get back up quickly. Your Dad is a real good example for a reason to stay 'clean, straight, and sober'. Let me know how things come out.
