I live in Oregon, but my custody orders were originally filed and still remain in California. I moved to North Carolina a few years ago, but I moved to Oregon last year along with my kids. The father of my children, the one who originally filed in California, moved to Oregon about a year and a half ago. Since I moved to North Carolina and the home state for our children was California, he obtained Full physical custody with joint legal custody. But over time, he sent them to me because he was doing his thing, and they stayed with me in NC until we moved to OR. So here I am, been here for a little over 6 months and suddenly he has his mom 'take' them to school out of the blue. She never returned them to my house, which is where they primarily stay since we've moved to OR. And he wont answer my phone calls nor text messages and when I sent him an email, he just responded with, I have been advised to keep the children in my care until further notice...So I am trying to figure out how I can change the jurisdiction of the custody case from CA to OR, and what exact forms I need to do. I don't have money for an attorney at all, and I have called the police, but they said there's nothing they can do because even if our court order was registered in Oregon, he would have the custody. Please help me. Thanks. Oh and the original case was filed in riverside county.
