What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

What exactly happens after your spouse is served with divorce papers? How long does it typically take to get to a hearing for temporary orders? Do you always have to go through mediation first? What exactly should I expect?

The spouse usually either groans, or celebrates.

Depends entirely on your county docket load.

Do you always have to go through mediation first?
Check your county's rules.

What exactly should I expect?

What exactly are you asking?

Unfortunately, there's no way for anyone to know the answers to these questions. The process, and each stage within, can take any amount of time from a few days to several months or more.

It can be very hard to do depending on your personality type, but "just wait and see" is the basic idea. Therefore, in answer to your last question: "A lot of waiting."

The more your stbx-spouse and you can agree on, the faster the process generally goes, and the less likely you will need mediation. Attorneys can also speed up the process, or slow it down considerably with continuances (you only have this one legal matter; they have many, and sometimes get scheduling conflicts).

So tell us what you want to hear and we will tell you that. What did your friends on Facebook say? .
I'm afraid something has gotten lost in translation here. I said thank you for the help, that the information given was helpful. That's all. Perhaps my tone was misinterpreted?

Really, peeps? Posting h/x.
??? Should I have placed my new questions in my previous posts?
