What is the name of your state? Ohio

My doctor said that she didn't see any reason for me to go on disability. All I can think is that she must be out of her mind. She performed the surgery on my ears to correct them. She said that my eustachian tubes were very small and probably would need permanent holes in them to allow to ventilate. 15 years later and I been in and out of her office like a revolving door. I've never held any job for more than 3 months which is about the longest time I've went without getting an ear infection and now she tells me that I don't have anything wrong with me.

It sounds like it is time to see another (or first if this doc isn't one) otolaryngologist.

I find it very difficult to believe that anybody has ear infections so bad that they would be considered disabled.

I am absolutely puzzled by your thread.

Are you deaf?

Does your brain work?
Do your hands work?
Do your legs work?
Do your feet work?

If YES..., then YOU ARE NOT DISABLED.

Many people are in pain every day. People who have had bad accidents suffer from chronic pain. People who have RA have pain everyday.

Of course there are diffferent levels of pain and some can be disabling. The problem is though what level is your pain.

As a chronic ear infection survivior, I can tell you there are many "tricks" to avoiding an ear infection. My docs were always amazed as I was always the first one in the late winter/early srping to have "swimmers ear" and before any swimming season was even here. I am the unlucky recipient of an unusual canal formation myself. While not as severe as yours, it is still troublesome.

I was told what causes the infections and several things to do to avoid them. If yours is due to moisture acumulating near the eardrum (which it would probably be based upon your description), there are things you can do that do not even need a "prescribed" medication. I won't give them here because of any liability that there may be but I got this info from one of my doctors.

If you are not getting satisfaction from the current doc, it's time to get another.
Chronic ear INFECTIONS are not normal and should be prevented. Apparently your current doctor is not capable of "fixing" you, go to a new one.

You obviously need psychological help...very often "disability" is a state of mind- they call it somatic overlay (i.e. its in your head). At 29 years old with a spotty work history, you have paid little or nothing into SSA so the tax payers would be picking up your tab. On your other thread a well meaning poster says that "we're not saying you don't deserve disability." ok...WELL I AM...you don't deserve to live the rest of your life with me supporting you. Get therapy and move on.

His doctor judged him, and told him that he didn't qualify.
