Yes you are right about the once of prevention. But honestly how many of you would be using plastic sheeting if you were changing a cealing fan or think twice about putting some tools or the fan on a (regular kitchen table). Obviously they did not or else it would not be pitted.

I guess demand more form other than from yourself. Again don't touch anything or you will get blame.
