Like anyone reading really believes you JustJackass.

You asked for help..oh, I don't know what to do. I need some guidance....... and I told you exactly what you needed to do.
You never asked for NY L/T law. And now, rather than look like a fool, you conjure up this story that L made a mistake and you do not have to paint.
Well no one believes you. You don't even believe in yourself.

Guru, you must be one crappy attorney to have this much free time on your hands.
I never said LL made a mistake...I asked if my oblitation to re-pait was "legally speaking", not just an issue of a tenant's code of rental ethics....Since I am not an attorney, I was not sure where to research that information. It was obvious that no one here was able to tell me if it was in fact my LEGAL obligation to re-paint, or even able to refer me to some actual legal literature, so I did what I had to do. If Mr. Landlord (and by Mr. LandLord, I mean MY landlord) would have told me he was deducting the cost of the re-paint from my secruity ($1,400=1 month security) I would have been fine with that. Instead, he tried intimidation tatics, refusing to return ANY of my secrurity, and tried to threaten me with legal action due to the lease, that is why I stressed the illegality of the apartment. So HE opened that can of worms, not me. As for anyone not believing me...I don't really give a crap. If you want to take this outside tuff-guy....let's go!!!!!
