48 year old man, total left knee replacement Oct 1998, works in food warehouse, loading and unloading trucks and driving forklift, worked 14 of 15 days for 10 to 14 hours a day, on 14th day, has to be carried to pick-up truck because left knee is so swollen and when arriving home has to be taken from vehicle by EMS, sees orthopedic doctor next morning, staph infection, exact cause can not be determined
could this be a workers' compensation related illness?
