I am currently receiving a salary wage that is set at 45 hours a week. However I have kept a record and I am working 55-65 hours a week. I have been switched to the night management position due to disagreements with the people of upper management. If I were to be terminated would I have the right to compensation for the hours that I have worked over the set pay of 45 hours a week? This has been going on for about 4 years now and I feel it is time to know what I can do legally.

Are you carried on the payroll as an exempt or non-exempt employee? Have you asked your employer previously to be paid for the extra hours worked?
