My stepdaughter's father was killed in a private aircraft cash amd she is suimg for wrongful death. Should she be given the option of paying fees plus costs or is this type of case always handled on a contingency basis?

My response:
There are no laws, setting in granite, how any particular attorney wishes to be paid. Some might charge hourly, some hourly plus contingency fee, and still others, simply on a contingency basis only.
It really depends upon what her goals are in the matter, and with whom she feels comfortable in doing business, and what type of fee arrangement she's willing to accept.
My suggestion would be to have her interview many attorneys until she finds the "right" combination of "comfort" and "fee" arrangements.
