My daughter is 15 yrs old and was trying to see a 20 yr old boy which we forbid and after months of her trying to see him, texting etc we decided to only let him come to the house. He came twice and never again. He plays mind cames with her and has her upset most of the time. We can always tell when she has had contact with him.
To make a long story short she took an overdose of tylenol Tuesday and was hospitalized until Friday and they talked her into voluntarily commiting herself for a 3 day evaluation. She basicly didn't plan on killing herself, but wanted of course to shake up this boy. She could have died or have serious damage but like most teens she wasn't thinking of this.
We want to get her help outside as this place she is in is not good, its tearing her up to be away from us and the younger kids miss her so much.
She is so outgoing and great personality but got with the wrong person who kept putting her down.
My problem is we were told she could go in for this evaluation and in 3 days sign herself out. Now they are saying she could stay longer and we are afraid that this is going to change her for the worse. What do we have to do to get her out and get some good help?
They said it was strictly a 3 day evaluation. Friday they admitted her and got info. Saturday a dr talked to her for about an hour yesterday they did nothing.
The place is overcrowded and they just sit around with no actions to better the kids or help them and we want her home.
What rights do we have as parents?
Thank youWhat is the name of your state?
