This happened the 3rd time in 3 years. The local hospital "lost" my payment. The check got cashed but never applied to my account.
The bank charges me $25.00 to get a copy of a cleared check. I already spent $50.00 the past few years obtaining copies. NOW I have to spend another $25.00. The hospital tells me they won't credit me for the cost to obtain check copies. But it isn't my mistake the payment was promptly sent. Are there any laws where I can at least receive a credit from my account to pay for the copies of the checks? I don't understand why I need to pay for hospital bookkeeping mistakes.
