What is the name of your state? MA. My sister's ex has custody of their child. My sister pays child support. She has gotten some small raises in the past 4 years. Can she be sued for back child support for these raises? Also, the custodial parent has gotten larger raises in these past 4 years.

Thanks Sugarplum. I'm on the sight now, but am having trouble understanding it. Would you be willing to help me through this site?

I'd be happy to answer questions, if I can. Let me go look and come back, see what I can find out about MA CS. (It's not my state, so I dunno yet.) :)

Okay, here's what I did.

1. I read.
2. Big words happened.
3. I got flaky. Probably because it's Friday. :p
4. Then I PMd one of our fine senior members, who is in MA. She's a nice one, so I'll bet she'll come around and give you her wisdom.

:D

I am so sorry. I've been dealing with my sister for the past hour & I think I got dizzy!! I really appreciate your help. Also, since I'm new to doing this, is there an easier way for me to see replies to this post, or do I have to keep putting in the forum I used?

you can cut and paste the link at the top of the page save it and then enter it when you sign on. or you could mark this page as a favorite, that should work too. +

Or you could just call "sugarpie" ROTFLMAO

Thank you fairisfair, I will try adding it to my favorites. I wish I knew more about computers. I feel so silly asking a question like that.

All is well. :D

Just refresh your browser, I suppose. And you can "subscribe" to the thread. I dunno what that is, really, but it's a feature here.

When you subscribe to the thread, you get an email when a new reply is posted. Then it stops until you check the thread again... then after that, you'll get an email when there is another response...

Is a child support order through the court or does your sister and her ex just have an "understanding"? If there is an order, her ex is entitled to a modification after all this time. If granted the modification will be affective from the date of filing.

Tell your sister to google up a Ma child support calculator and do the math. It would be wise to set aside the difference in amounts in a account so that she can avoid arrears.
