What is the name of your state? GA
I was sent an email on 2/22/08, after finishing my billing for the 20th, to meet with my boss (DT) in her office. DT proceeded to tell me that she was sorry that she was going to let me go. She said I didn’t understand the billing process. I told her that was not correct & she was wrong for firing me over a few billing errors. Errors that were never sent out nor always my fault. Never was reprimanded or written up. There are six other analysts who have been there at least a year & were still making billing errors. She terminated me because on 2/8/08 I went over her head about a billing issue I was having & she was doing nothing to help me. I went to the Controller, SK, who started while my boss was out sick. When DT. came back from being sick & found out that, I had talked with SK. D was furious & called me unto her office & told me she almost fired me because I did not send the invoice I have been referring to out on time & because she is the Billing Director & not SK. I tried to explain why I did it, but she did not want to hear what I had to say. Do I have a case even though I am in a "at will" state?

In employment law, illegal retaliation refers to retaliation for protected activities like filing a workers compensation claim or a complaint of discrimination or sexual harassment.

"Retaliating" against you for going outside the chain of command or not doing your work to the standard held by your boss (regardless of whether others are meeting that standard or not) isn't illegal.

is is not discrimination knowing i am black and i was reporting my boss who is white to her boss who is also white that she was not trying to help me get my work done? thus the retaliation comes in. she is the one who hired me, since i was a temp when i first started because i was doing my job as required. i had not ever be reprimanded for not doing my job, but i was reprimanded vocally for complaining to my bosses boss about her.

Nope - black, white or purple...you weren't fired due to your skin color.

If just knowing what color your skin is, was automatic grounds for a discrimination claim, no one could ever be fired.

You do not have a claim for wrongful termination based on ANYTHING you have posted. Give it up.
