According to what you first wrote here, those calcs put you at 96mph. 120 miles divided by 1 hr and 15 minutes. This is a bit of an exaggeration... in what part of LA do you live and where did she move to?
Really... Barstow is a 120 mile trip from my house, I go frequently and it never takes me more than 1hr and 15 minutes. So I'd be interested in how you have an almost 2 hr trip to go 80 miles....
And I can be out of the state in 3 hours... Really, you get better answers if you post without the dramatics.
Now, you've changed it. That puts you at 78mph. 118 miles divided by 1 hr and 30 minutes.Oh yeah... you can - and I never reach 96. It is exactly 118 miles from my driveway to one of my favorite stores. It takes me less than an hour and a half to get there... always. I do the drive. I oughta know. I did it again... just last weekend. I suppose next time I'll call OG and she can time me, although I believe she's been on the phone with me while I was making that drive a time or 2.
Now, I've gotten to Vegas in less than 4 hours.... yes, that requires me to drive pretty fast.
Out of line? How so? I've made the drive. I've made just about the same drive the OP is getting ready to make, but farther so I have a pretty good grasp at just how long it's going to take him to make it... both in rush hour and not. Something you can't tell him. Something Ld can't tell him - unless either one of you have done it. I've done it... REGULARLY. The simple fact of the matter is that it WILL NOT take him 3 hours (or 2 hours) to make an 80 mile drive. Ever. Unless that is (again) someone is dead in the middle of the freeway.According to what you first wrote here, those calcs put you at 96mph. 120 miles divided by 1 hr and 15 minutes.
Now, you've changed it. That puts you at 78mph. 118 miles divided by 1 hr and 30 minutes.
You can probably leave OG out of it as she talks to me too. Physics and Math alone prove that YOU are the one out of line talking to the OP in the manner that you are.
And i said LESS than an hour and a half... in fact, it's NEVER taken me an hour and a half to get there. As a matter of fact, it generally takes me 1hr, 15 minutes. Wanna go?Now, you've changed it. That puts you at 78mph. 118 miles divided by 1 hr and 30 minutes.
Even at 115 miles the math doesn't add up unless you are driving with a heck of a lead foot.Oh yeah... you can - and I never reach 96. Correction: 115 miles... I just mapquested it.

I quoted both of your responses. First you said 120 at 1 hr and 15 minutes then it changed. I will agree that, no I don't live there, and 3 hours could be an exaggeration (I was actually reading that as his round trip time). His original thought was 1 hr 45 minutes which is NOT an exaggeration. He clearly states that he is worried about the children getting to bed at 10pm with a pick up time of 8:30. That's only 1 hr and 30 minutes. And i said LESS than an hour and a half... in fact, it's NEVER taken me an hour and a half to get there. As a matter of fact, it generally takes me 1hr, 15 minutes. DH and I did the math. According to what CC wrote it puts her at speeds of 78 to 96 mph.Even at 115 miles the math doesn't add up unless you are driving with a heck of a lead foot.
80 miles an hour means 80 miles in one hour. You are claiming that you drive 115 miles in no less than 1 1/2 hours and often less than 1 1/4 hours....and you are claiming that a parent should do the same or less with children in the car...
ARG....I am a leadfoot and I wouldn't dream of doing what you claim is feasible with a child in the car...and not even remotely what is LEGAL.
And i said LESS than an hour and a half... in fact, it's NEVER taken me an hour and a half to get there. As a matter of fact, it generally takes me 1hr, 15 minutes. Wanna go?
Actually, moms house is 9 miles away from the freeway, so the majority of the commute is highway, but there is quite a bit of street driving once i exit the 5.Please don't correct me when I say what I say unless you're sitting in my car next to me looking at my speedometer. I said what I said, meant what I said the way I said it and yes, it's all highway - just as the OP's drive will be.
Ha! This woman is never rational. The last 4 yrs of dealing with custody, not one rational thing has ever come out of her mouth. That being said, I suppose it is worth a shot to at least try to discuss it with her.try to have a conversation with mom and be rational. Maybe mom will be rational. It happens.
So why would you have sex with an irrational woman?Ha! This woman is never rational.
Why do you say that? The last 4 yrs of dealing with custody, not one rational thing has ever come out of her mouth. That being said, I suppose it is worth a shot to at least try to discuss it with her.
Really? If you dont' worry about until school starts then the children will be dealing with late nights for quite a bit during school. Guess it is not that important.Maybe bringing an OSC to the table will force us into mediation, and it can get worked out there without having to get the courts involved (yeah right!). I won't worry about this until school starts though.
LOL, I'd ride with CC. I have friends from Louisiana who drive super fast. Followed them once in my own car and just about had a heart attack. However, I'm fine as a passenger. I just bring a book and don't watch the traffic.I quoted both of your responses. First you said 120 at 1 hr and 15 minutes then it changed. The times and miles you are giving out puts you at speeds of 96 or 78 mph. So actually, no thanks, I wouldn't go. I can barely stand my husband driving the car, you'd probably give me a heart attack.
I only meant that part as kind of a joke. A brake pedal seems to spring up on the passenger side of the car when DH is driving. I'm forever hitting that imaginary pedal. I'm a very boring driver, I do the speed limit, no more. If other people don't like it, they are entitled to their tickets and can just go around me.LOL, I'd ride with CC. I drive from TX to OK to see my eldest daughter, and if one doesn't drive between 70 and 80 mile an hour you'll be flattened by the drivers behind you. Been on the LA freeway once---people drive pretty darn fast and motorcycles can drive on the white line.
I used to do the same thing with OZ. Fast driving doesn't bother me, but riding someone's tail end does. He'd be really bad about looking at other things when we'd get to a light. Not only would I hit the imaginary brake, a couple of times I literally screamed--saved us from seriously hurting the other party and ourselves.I only meant that part as kind of a joke.
