I live in CA, but the issue takes place in Arizona.
My daughter lives in AZ with her husband, my grandson (6) and my granddaughter (1). My daughter is angry at me for calling CPS on her husband for alledgedly beating my grandson, his step-son. Several other concerned people called CPS too. Now my daughter is angry with me. She filed a protection order against me naming her and my grandchildren in the order. I went to the hearing to fight the protection order. The Judge removed my grandchildren from the order, leaving only my daughter named on the order. The Judge told me I need to get an attorney to obtain visitation with my grandchildren. I raised my grandson, from the time he was born, until he was 4. I financially supported my daughter for 3 years, in every regard. I put her through cosmetology school for 2 years. Now I have no contact with my grandkids. My daughter won't allow it.
Does anyone have any advice for me? I am so sad. Don't know what to do at this point. An attorney is out of the question. I don't have the money. I hear Arizona is a "pro mom" state, and that I will most likely lose if I petition the court for visitation. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
