So apparently you advised the court you are working and the court felt that you do not qualify for an appointed attorney ?

What an attorney can do for you is plea bargain for the best possible outcome for you .

If after you take your financial and you do not qualify for a no cost to you appointed attorney ,look for law firms that charge on a sliding scale fee ( meaning a percent of what you earn ) .

You could always ask the DA. I suppose of you're doing it alone , what their best offer is .

As others have stated don't go back in front of the court ****y and pee the Judge off.

No prior criminal record. Im from Long Island NY.

That's not answering the question. Where did the incident take place? I don't care where you live.

There are two counties on Long Island with multiple towns and villages.

I told him I had a job but had to quit because I had no way to get there. They told me to come back with my tax returns or pay stubs to prove I was/am working.

Took place in the middle of a dark side road that's off a main busy road.

I think you should get a termination letter from that employer and go with a PD , you obviously couldn't represent yourself .

This isn't the movie My Cousin Vinny .

Why a termination letter? I never had many problems at work. Plus I quit because I couldn't get there, I wasn't fired.

You're looking for advice but won't give your location. Maybe some us are familiar with Nassau and Suffolk courts and can provide further info, but obviously you aren't looking for any real help.

Make sure you defend yourself, you don't need an attorney. Good luck.
