What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
In High School during my last few months of my senior year, I was filed on for being truant. I went to court and the judge told me I had to pay a fine and do community service. I knew I wasn't truant, but I didn't have the money to pay the fine either. A very large portion of students were filed on so it was kind of fishy. I pleaded with the judge that I was innocent and had been going to school and had only missed 3 days, and had verified it with my teachers before court day. The judge refused saying the computer system at the school said I had missed more than what is permitted. I told her I was dropping out. I paid the fine and did community service. I then moved to another city with my mom and finished high school.
When I enrolled in college I was going over my transcripts from high school...and it's a little strange that it does not show I had excessive absences my senior year, and everything looks fine.
Is this strange? I KNEW I wasn't guilty either...Is there anything I can do to set things straight?
