What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

In High School during my last few months of my senior year, I was filed on for being truant. I went to court and the judge told me I had to pay a fine and do community service. I knew I wasn't truant, but I didn't have the money to pay the fine either. A very large portion of students were filed on so it was kind of fishy. I pleaded with the judge that I was innocent and had been going to school and had only missed 3 days, and had verified it with my teachers before court day. The judge refused saying the computer system at the school said I had missed more than what is permitted. I told her I was dropping out. I paid the fine and did community service. I then moved to another city with my mom and finished high school.
When I enrolled in college I was going over my transcripts from high school...and it's a little strange that it does not show I had excessive absences my senior year, and everything looks fine.
Is this strange? I KNEW I wasn't guilty either...Is there anything I can do to set things straight?

There must have been notices or phone calls made to you or your parents prior to having charges filed against you. Before you went to court, why didn't you talk to the attendance office or truancy officer and get a print out of your reported absences. It seems like you just rolled over and played dead here - why didn't you look for documentation to prove the charges one way or another?

It's a plus for you that your high school transcripts look fine - seems like it's over and done with.

I never received any notices for my absences, only an officer showing up to my door serving me papers. I turned 18 right after my senior year started, so I'm not sure if my parents could help or not. I kind of did "roll over and play dead" because I did not know what to do at the time. But is there anyway to get that money back???

Nope. You would have had to have defended yourself at the time.

I just don't understand why, when you were handed those papers, you didn't say "This is a mistake." and went to the attendance office at the school and asked for a print out. They needed some proof. Obviously you were on the list for some reason, valid or not.
